System running but no cooling happens

First identify whether water is flowing or not.

  • Feel the pad with your hands. The water channels should swell slightly as water circulates.
  • Determine if the pump is working by listening to its sounds.
  • Check whether water is circulating in the container when the pump is on. Look at turbulence in the water. Avoid lifting the hose out of the water, as this can allow air into the loop.

If the water is not flowing

  • Make sure the pumps are connected electrically. Measure voltage on the pump's power connector with a meter to confirm power.
  • Make sure the pumps are connected correctly to the hoses. A typical pump will have an axial inlet and a radial outlet.
  • Try to stop and start the pump a few times manually.
  • If your controller has current monitoring functionality, observe the current of the pump to check its operation.
  • Raise the containers so there is less height difference between the pad and container.

If the water is flowing but cooling doesn't happen

  • Check the temperature of the water in the cooling container. If needed, add or replace ice packs.
  • Operate the pumps by turning on various manual modes in the UI and see if that make a difference to water temperature or flow.

Unusual noise during pump operation

  • Make sure the pump is fully submerged and covered with water.
  • Make sure the inlet port is facing up so that any trapped air can escape.
  • Manually start and stop the pump and see if any bubbles leave the pump.
  • Check that you are running at the maximum speed setting (unless you have a reason not to).
  • Try to manipulate the pad with your hands to get any trapped air out.
  • Use the "Prime" function for 15-30 minutes and check for improvement.
  • Raise the containers so there is less height difference between the pad and container.

Humming noise during pump operation

  • Isolate your pump from the container. Use suction cups, if available, or a silicone pad.
  • Isolate the container from the floor or surrounding surfaces. Try putting a rug under it.
  • Place the containers farther from the bed using longer hoses.
  • Reduce the system voltage to run the pumps at a lower speed.

More research is needed to achieve silent operation. Please experiment and share your findings.
